One of my friends recently started streaming, but he wasn’t getting too many viewers because he wasn’t using a webcam. Being the tech-savvy that I am, I recommended him to get a webcam. That helped him increase his viewership and engagement with his audience. If you are reading this article, you probably are struggling with that too, so i decided to list the 5 best webcams you can buy right now. Let’s start!
1. Logitech C920
The best webcam for 2019 is the Logitech C920, which is essentially not the newest camera around but due to its popularity, performance, features, intuitive design, and value for the price it comfortably sits on the top spot. This webcam can produce videos and photos with great detail, comes with a software that can fine-tune your content, even more, it is also one of the most versatile cameras on the market, providing excellent performance for video calling, streaming, and content creating.
The Logitech C920 may be a little larger than most other webcams, measuring 3.7-inches at its widest point, but that is mostly due to the excellent microphones and LEDs. In the middle of the body, you will find the 1080p camera lens with a glass panel on top that looks attractive. To attach to a monitor or a laptop this camera utilizes an arm that hugs the body properly and securely, it works with a hinge to adjust the length of the aforementioned arm and a rubber part to hold the device static. However, if you choose not to attach it to your monitor you can attach it to a tripod with its tripod screw hole, the options are endless with this versatile webcam.
One tries at the Logitech C920, and you really can’t go back to your regular laptop camera, as the pictures came out great in every light condition. The 5-megapixel 5168×2907 resolution camera performed slightly better in well-lit environments with excellent clarity, detail and precise and true to life colors. The 78-degree field of view proved to be perfect for video chatting with family and friends, and you can even utilize it for content creating because two people will comfortably fit into the frame.
The camera allows you to video call at 1080p with 30 frames per second in various apps, but just 720p for Facetime. The built-in microphones provided excellent audio that was clear and loud enough, so you can have business meetings pretty comfortably.
The best webcam, combining the best features for streamers, content creators, and casual users. It really doesn’t get any better than this, amazing work from Logitech.
2. Logitech C615
As you have noticed Logitech is dominating this list with its amazing webcams, however, they have great options for the budget buyers as well. However, despite having a budget price the Logitech C615 still provides excellent value over price and has great performances. This webcam is dedicated to those buyers that have no need for tons of features in their videos, as they look at it as overkill, and to be fair it is for most users. Let’s dive deeper into this excellent budget webcam.
The Logitech C615 focuses on portability and it does its job pretty well to be honest, with its rectangular body with rounded edges and small dimensions that can be folded it is the best ‘Fold-and-Go’ webcam you can find. As I said earlier the device is pretty light and small in dimensions and thanks to the excellent clip it attaches to every laptop and monitor with ease and securely. Furthermore, it offers excellent flexibility with its 360-degree swivel ability that gives you amazing plenty of options and ease of use.
This is the best webcam if you are going to use for video calling on Skype or Facetiming, as it provides HD 720p quality for calls, but it is also great for recording content and for streaming as it can record decent footage in Full HD 1080p at 30 frames per second. This webcam outperforms its price by a mile as it provides features that are present in other more expensive Logitech cameras such as the automatic light correction. While it is not as effective as on the better cameras it is still pretty good at providing great content in dimly lit rooms.
Moreover, the Logitech C615 features excellent autofocus for extreme close-ups up to 10 cm, the built-in microphone performed pretty well in my opinion. It captured the sound pretty clearly and loudly, and most importantly the vocals were perfectly recognizable, and for video calling, it had some sort of noise-canceling that I did not expect in a budget webcam.
Combining a great all-around package of performance, features, design, and price the Logitech C615 is one of the best webcams in the market.

3. Logitech C922x
Since the introduction of webcams, Logitech has been the leader of this market segment with its variety of options, which provide excellent performances at great prices that won’t break the bank. The Logitech C922x is one of the newest on its lineup and provides an excellent video streaming package to your hands with Full HD resolution and excellent frame rates.
The Logitech C922x adopts the same design that Logitech webcams have used for so many years now, but that is not a bad thing because they are compact and are premium built, and there is no need to fix something that isn’t broken. This camera measures 1.73×3.74×2.8-inches in total and weighs just 5.7-ounces together with the clip and cable. In its box, you will find the webcam itself, a small tripod, a 3-month premium code to XSplit and the user manual that is exceptionally descriptive about the device.
The rectangular body of the device mounts on top of your monitor or laptop securely with its clip. On the front, you will locate the lens and there are also two stereo microphones there to capture amazing audio, apart from you will find the Logitech logo and the HD 1080p logo on its all-black plastic body. At the bottom of the body, you will locate the tripod hole, and the included tripod will extend to about 6 inches in total while providing excellent stability.
I tested the camera throughout and I found that the frame rate performance was excellent with the Logitech C922x, providing 60 frames per second in 720p and 30 frames per second at 1080p. It worked relatively well in different light conditions and the sound quality was also pretty respectable. I was extremely impressed with the low light video, as its processor immediately activated the low light correction mode that adjusted the camera in a great manner to provide excellent content even in dimly lit rooms.
This streamer dedicated package is simply amazing, and with its nice set of features delivers amazing value for its asking price.
4. Razer Kiyo
Most streamers constantly experiment with their setup and even some going overboard as to having studio setups with professional microphones, bright lighting, green screens and many more. Razer’s brand new web camera the Kiyo provides pretty good image quality with the best lighting option you can get from a webcam thanks to its built-in ring light that provides amazing illumination, convenient and easy to use, the perfect camera for streaming.
The Razer Kiyo has a very interesting design, and to be frank I have never seen anything quite like it, a ring-round shaped webcam, but still one of the best-looking webcams in the market for sure, every single detail was very well thought out by the designers of this camera.
When fully closed the Razer Kiyo looks like three discs stacked on top of each other, the first disc is the camera and light ring, then a hinge that attaches to the top/front part of the monitor, and the rear hinge that squeezes the body to the monitor tightly. I tried using with a variety of laptops and monitors, and it worked excellently on each of them.
The main body of the webcam consists of the camera lens on the middle surrounded by a thick white LED ring with a dial around it to adjust how much light it emits. The camera comes with a five-foot braided USB cable that is not detachable, which is a little annoying because it is short and you have to adjust your setup accordingly.
The Razer Kiyo features a 4-megapixel lens with 2688×1520 resolution to take great pictures and videos, and it was surprisingly good in better light conditions. It has an 81.6-degree field of view that is pretty good for streaming, and the colors looked very accurate and details were rather sharp for a webcam, everything was true to life and will result in awesome content.
Additionally, the Kiyo supports any kind of streaming software and you can stream 1080p video at 30 frames per second, but the sound is not as good as I expected, but any serious streamer should invest in a good microphone.
5. Logitech BRIO
We are going to start our best webcams list with a great product from Logitech. Most laptops and monitors in the market now sport 4K resolutions, but integrated laptop webcams have been playing catch for a long time now, most of them featuring very low qualities with low and lacking resolutions. If you need a webcam for your work or even if you are a streamer, you can buy a separate one like the Logitech BRIO.
The Logitech BRIO is tiny and compact measuring just 4×1.1×1.1-inches in total, it sports an all-black plastic body with an oval design that looks cute and familiar, in the middle of the camera you will find the 4K lens. It is plain and simple, without any details or aggressive touches, just the Logitech logo in gray to break the all-black monotony.
In its package, you will find a 5 feet long cable with a USB type-A connector for the PC end and type-C connector for the camera end, however, you can easily swap this for a cable of your liking.
The build quality on the Logitech BRIO is a little lacking, it is still pretty good but it is not the Logitech quality we have come to know. Especially its clip which was made of a flimsy rubber material that you have to bend to place it on top of your monitor, and I found it to be not stable when touching the camera, and even some slight touches to the monitor the camera wobbles and sometimes falls.
When it comes to picture and sound quality, the Logitech BRIO shines, as it provided the best-looking pictures I have ever seen on a webcam, with precise colors and sharp details. It utilizes the RealLight 3 technology with a high dynamic range that adjusts to any environment.
The Logitech BRIO is equipped with a pair of omnidirectional mics to produce the clearest possible sound from this compact package, that was clean, nice and pretty loud.
This webcam features 4K resolution and HDR for true and accurate colors, furthermore, it implements interesting features and performances to this tiny package to provide excellent value for its price.
